Travel Toiletries Tutorial

Travel Toiletries

Travel Toiletries is prefect for your tooth brush, tooth paste, razor, travel-sized shaving cream, deodorant and a small brush or come. Maybe a place for a travel-sized mouse, travel-sized hair spray or some travel-sized hair gel in it depending on wither you’re a man or a woman. It’s quick and easy to make. Just 3 simple steps!

What you need is:
1 hand towel (15in. x 25 in.)
Matching thread
Ribbon for the tie (I made mine 24 in. in length. I also give an extra ½ in. for hemming since I have cloth ribbon)
1 ruler (Can be a normal ruler I just happen to have a yard stick handy)
Step 1:
Lay out the towel length way (the 25 in. side) and fold the bottom up. This should measure at around 10 in. give or take. A little short or a little long is fine. You don’t need to pin it because they stay flat together. Now you sew both ends. (I went over this same seam like 5 times to give it strength.) It should look like this when you’re done:

Step 2:
Take your ruler and measure out the pockets you want. In my case I did three 3 in. pockets, then a 6 in. (making this a 4 in. this time), another 3 in and a final 6 in. Pin the spots with your straight pins then sew. Don’t forget to reverse to make the seam stronger. You can’t really tell by the picture but the pockets are there:

Step 3:
Take your ribbon and attach it to one side. I like doing the right side because I roll this from left to right. I’ve sewn the ribbon one a bit above the top of the pockets I in the middle. It should look like this when finished:
Now you’re finished! Toss the things you need in it, roll and tie it shut! Now you’re ready for the weekend or what ever trip you’re taking. When you get home just toss it into the wash. J
